Day One; Monday

This is started with some trepidation. A man of my maturity has a lot to learn about modern technology. Yet, I have seen others my age and older do similar things so I am going to give it a try. I will tell all who read that the opinions expressed on this site are mine. Readers will find that I rant sometimes. I think of them more as jeremiads. A warning to the future from a history major that will probably be ignored just as are most prophets.

I will comment on the current events, the political spectrum and religious stands. Some might disagree with me but I try to stay true to the Word of God. Straying from the Bible has gotten me in trouble in the past so I often will quote scripture (rarely from memory) and give the reader the reference. Most of my quotes will be from the King James Version (aka Authorized) or its modern incarnation. If I do not quote from there I will endeavor to inform you.

There are days when I will write nothing. There are days when I will write on subjects as varied as baseball, travel, restaurants or backpacking. I am married and my wife and I like to travel. Sometimes those travels are close to home, sometimes they are far afield. We have taken trips throughout the western United States. Recent years have found us in Maine, Nova Scotia, Hawaii and New York. My son and I were in Washington two years ago. Camden Yard was where I celebrated my birthday in 2005. I have been in forty-seven states, six Canadian provinces and eleven other countries.

Television shows are a sometimes entertainment around our humble home. You will soon figure out that I reside in Southern California. This will be reflected in my writings as I write about accommodations, eateries and sights that we experience in our lives. I will tell you now that some of you will not find me entertaining. Some of you will find me iritating. I hope that some of you will find me interesting.
